Strata by Crickets Audio is a multi-track frequency spectrum monitoring plugin that allows audio producers to visualize the frequency spectrum of all tracks simultaneously in a single window.
Developed by Ross Williams, the software acts as a "sonic X-Ray" for your DAW mix. Instead of displaying overlapping lines like traditional spectrum analyzers, it stacks your tracks on top of each other like geological rock layers (hence the name Strata). This visual heat-map style makes it incredibly easy to catch frequency masking, low-end mud, and clutter at a glance.
How it Works
The software is a two-part plugin system:
- Strata Track: A lightweight plugin you drop at the end of the signal chain on each individual track. It runs silently without affecting your audio or draining your CPU.
- Strata Vision: The main interface dashboard. You drop it on a single empty track, and it automatically gathers the information from all the "Track" plugins to construct the full visual graph.
