Product Description
Inspira is a high-precision digital audio workstation (DAW) plugin developed by MQA Labs, a division of Lenbrook Media Group. Engineered specifically for the recording, overdubbing, and mixing stages of music production, it focuses entirely on managing impulse response, noise shaping, and dither to combat long-standing time-domain challenges in digital audio.
Core Features & Architecture
- Time-Domain Alignment: Features a built-in Align function that mitigates unwanted time-domain blurring and pre-ringing artifacts introduced during original analog-to-digital (A/D) conversion. This function shifts the digital response to mirror the natural behavior of analog sound, keeping transients sharp and crisp.
- Resolution Recovery: Employs low-level dither noise to preserve low-level resolution and uncover fine mix details from the earliest parts of the production process.
- Depth Control: Includes an interactive Depth slider (with a recommended optimal setting between 4 and 10) to position and scale the dither exactly where the mix requires itThe Curated Noise Shaper FamiliesUnlike its sister plugin Endura (which actively analyzes a stereo file to generate a single custom curve), Inspira provides a curated palette of novel noise-shaping algorithms divided into three distinctive sonic families: [1, 2]
Noise Shaper Family Spectral Behavior Sonic Signature Flat Evenly distributes dither energy across the audio spectrum. Neutral, clinical accuracy. Air Shifts dither noise away from the crucial midrange into high frequencies. Adds a lighter, slightly brighter top-end sound. Psychoacoustic Follows complex curves mimicking the threshold of human hearing. Adds physical depth and solidifies track staging.
