Back in the early days of electric guitars and amplification, guitar players didn’t care if their guitar sounds were altered to ‘breaking’ by the very limit of their amps. They pushed the gain on their amps for just one thing LOUD. It resulted in crunchy saturated sound, added sustain, raw, but responded very well to the dynamics of the playing. There are always demands more 'gain’ - the search for the perfect distortion sound that never ends. DS3603 brings five types of massive amounts of gain for demolition.

DS3603 Distortion clips the input signal by increasing the signal to maximum overload. Adding musical harmonics and overtones while still maintains the characteristics of the original sound, or not. You choose. For heavy metal guitars or abrasive and pounding industrial drums, seek from five types of distortion:

Probably the most primitive type of distortion device. Instantly recognizable from the woolly, gritty, and compressed ‘artificial’ sound. There are five types of buzzy tone benders on the FZ3603.

This unit is a result from the endless research of many compressor pedals, a lot of characteristics and finally, we narrowed down everything into one st unit that can represent many other compressor pedals in a straightforward package.

Compressor FX Engine

Will suppress the loudest part of the incoming audio signal, based on the specified threshold. Following the ‘compression, it will increase the softer signal, narrowing the dynamic range thus delivers a more consistent overall level.

Guitar players. Bass players. They are the same. They love long sustaining notes. A Compressor is the one thing that should help with that desire. It is an effect that does not always sound too obvious, but when taken away, it surely will be missed. A compressor will suppress the loudest part of incoming audio signals, based on the specified threshold. Following the ‘compression, it will increase the softer signal, narrowing the dynamic range thus delivers a more consistent overall level. And please take note, although this unit is designed specifically for guitar and bass players, you can also use it on any other instrument as well. Well, why not?

There are three types of compression styles in this unit:

• VCA: Stands for “Voltage Controlled Amplifier”. It’s fast, modern, and sounds very clean. 
• FET: Stands for “Field Effect Transistor”. Known for its aggressive behavior and also adds distinct color to the resulting sound. 
• OPTO: Shorts for “Optical”. It has the slowest reaction but gives more characteristics and tightness to the result.

EFEKTOR CH3604 Chorus

From Classic to Vast Spectrum Chorusing Effect

Recognizable from its doubling effect, this type of effect is known as a standard built-in effect from gears such as the Roland Jazz Chorus amp and also the Roland Juno synthesizer. 

Choose your favorite chorus sound from these three types:

• Dimension Chorus: Add thickness, 3-dimensional depth, and width from true analog circuit modeling.
• Ensemble Chorus: A true classic chorusing effect with great tone. soft, deep, and rich.
• Tribunal Chorus: Big spectrum creates rich soundscapes in stereo. The sounds of multiple modulations combined together.

EFEKTOR FL3606 Flanger

Howling, Swirly, and Flanging Tone

Originated from manipulating tape recorders by slowing down one of its flange (hence the ‘flanger name), this effect creates a swooshing sound dubbed as the ‘jet engine’ effect:

• Royal Flanger: The “Vintage” Flanging Effect.
• Jet Flanger: Supersonic Jet Howl or Cool Spacey Stereo Image.
• Electro Flanger: Darker, Swirly, Chorusy, and Trippy Sound.

EFEKTOR PH3605 Phaser

The Phase Shifter from Outer Space

Full name, Phase Shifter. Typically more subtle than a flanger, but sounds like warblers coming from outer space. Often used on Rhodes electric piano, and of course by guitarists such as Brian May (Queen) and Eddie Van Halen (Van Halen). 

The Efektor PH3605 Phaser provides three types of sound:

• Phase One: Mild phasing effect, great for a clean tone. Less dramatic sweep.
• Dual-Phase: Warm and thick phasing sound that sounds great with distorted guitar tones. Great for many instruments such as guitar, bass, keyboards, and vocals.
• Multi-Phase: More intense effect. Offers more than a standard wobbling effect.

Wa Wa Wacka Wacka Wacka Wa Wa

In the 1920s guitar players were fascinated by the “wa wa wa” sound made by trumpet players by opening and closing their mutes. Its filtering effect alters the resonance of the instrument and it feels to increase the expressiveness of playing.

More than 40 years later, an accidental invention resulted in a device that continues to change the sound of the guitar. This pedal was eventually known as the Cry Baby*.
