The FG-73 emulates a classic English preamp

The celebrity entry in Slate Digital's Virtual Preamp Collection is the FG-73, which is modeled on the legendary solid-state English console preamp module that's all over your favorite recordings. From its RAF blue-gray steel chassis and wooden end cheeks to its punchy, in-your-face sound, the FG-73 nails it. You'll be reaching for the FG-73 constantly.

The FG-76 delivers vintage preamp sound

The Slate Digital Virtual Preamp Collection also gives you the FG-76 module, modeled after a much-loved vintage tube preamp used on many classic records. The FG-76 rocks a warm, fat, colorful sound that will make your tracks and mixes come alive. The low end saturates in a very musical, sweet way, so it's ideal for pumping up bass and kick drum. You'll be using this one a lot, too.

The Virtual Drive allows proper gain staging

Slate designed both VPC preamp modules with a Virtual Drive. Twist this knob to simulate increasing the amp input gain, while automatically compensating via an internal output trim. Virtual Drive makes perfecting your gain staging a simple, one-knob operation. For milder coloration, keep the Virtual Drive knob left of the center. If you're after more saturation or full-bore distortion, hang right. Crank it fully clockwise, and hold on for a wild ride!
